Junk Characters in R12 Concurrent PDF Report

When submitting a Conc.Request in Purchase Order, the request gets completed normally but the output(PDF File) contains junk characters instead of English characters.

For Eg:



Reason for this issue is IX_LIBRARY setup is not done properly.

Proper setting of IX_PRINTING and IX_RENDERING variables will solve the issue.

To set these variables, navigate to $APPL_TOP and add these variables in custom environment file. Also edit the environment file as well with the details of this custom environment file




After these changes, take a bounce and re-submit the request and this time the output is proper.

REP-3000 Issue is very common in Oracle Apps environments. If this issue persists, concurrent programs will complete with error code(Whose output is in PDF format). Generally this affects the OPP operations. I've faced this issue in both Linux and Unix platforms. The reason for this issue is common on both the platforms. Improper setting of the DISPLAY variable is the reason for this issue. In my environment, I recently faced this issue in EBS 11i Instance which runs on RHEL-5.11. In my environment we are having EBS(12.2.5) running with 12.1.0.2 database. One day in our DEV Instance  Front-End is not opening and faced the below error. So I followed the below steps as a solution and it worked. First, generate the JAR files Next, reload the generated jar files to the respective database  Now compile the APPS schema to reduce the count of Invalid objects.
